Senen Sub-district Water Resources (SDA) Unit, Central Jakarta, accelerated repair work on Poncol connecting (phb) channel's plaster, RW 04, Bungur Urban Village. This repair was carried out to follow up resident's request through Musrenbang as an effort to anticipate inundation and flooding.
We have started the repair since early August by deploying 15 personnel
Bungur Urban Village SDA Unit Acting (Plt) Head, Zulfahmi mentioned, in this repair work, his side dredged the mud, repaired the plaster which damaged due to landslides. The repair work was also hampered because the plaster was next to walls of resident's houses.
"Because this channel is located next to resident's house, it is feared when it rains heavily, water in channel seeps into their houses. After receiving suggestions from residents, we immediately follow it up by repairing plaster and cleaning the channel," he explained, Monday (10/18).
Cleanup Action in 82 Locations Has Touched 80 PercentThe new plaster was built along 365 meters with height 1 meter and width 3.8 meter. Personnel used equipment, such as portable pump to help speed up the draining process, crowbars, hoe, bucket, and so on.
"We have started the repair since early August by deploying 15 personnel. The work is carried out manually and so far it has reached 270 meters long or 75 percent," he said.
Plaster repair work was targeted to be completed in early November and expected to optimize its capacity in order to prevent overflow.
